When I think of spring, I think of fresh, breezy, colors emerging with energy. After winter, I like to refresh my closet with lighter, breathable fabrics that are comfortable. Working from home, I still believe in getting out of pajamas and into an outfit that is put-together. Here is a list of some fresh new wardrobe ideas for spring that can carry you into summer as well.
How to put together your spring wardrobe with WFH staples
When working from home, try to consider the factors below.
Comfort – Spring calls for fabrics that are breathable and light. Think about cotton, polyester, rayon, chiffon and consider whether you like fabric that has some stretch to it. You may be sitting at a computer for long periods of time so what is most comfy for you. Think about what works for the temperature of the area you are working in, both in terms of the region and your home office area.
Professional and polished – You may need to take a work call or run out to the doctor or your kid’s school. Look for clothes that you can wear at home and transition straight to these activities. You don’t need to be in a 3-piece suit, but don’t be a slob either. Having a few details such as nice collars and necklines can contribute to looking nice as it can be especially important since that is the only time, colleagues may get to see you.
Versatile – Our lives are flexible when we work from home. We not only work, but run errands, or go to the gym or out for coffee. Rather than changing clothes a hundred times, step into an outfit that will work for all of your stops.
Put-together – Even if you are home all day working on a report or with your nose in your computer, you can still look put-together. It really makes you feel good and makes for better work.
